FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Greater Fort Wayne (GFW) Inc. Women’s Network will once again present the Champions of Change Awards in 2021. Now through May 1, community members are encouraged to submit nominations for the awards, which celebrate those who mentor and empower women in Allen County. The awards will be presented June 10 as part of the GFW Inc. Annual Meeting.
“Whether it’s happening virtually or in person, taking the time to mentor others is a building block for stronger individuals, stronger organizations, and a stronger community,” said Brenda Gerber Vincent, VP of community and corporate impact at GFW Inc. “These awards spotlight the important work that often goes unrecognized.”
The awards are given annually to two individuals from Allen County who:
- Demonstrate an unwavering passion and commitment to our community.
- Are role models making a difference in the lives of others.
- Have made significant contributions that have inspired women to succeed.
- Have made Allen County a better place to live, work, and play.
Nominees need not be GFW Inc. investors, but investors are preferred. The nomination deadline is May 1, and nominations can be submitted online; a link to the application can be found on the GFW Inc. Women’s Network webpage.
The 2021 Champions of Change Award winners will be announced June 10 at the GFW Inc. Annual Meeting. Registration information for the event is available on the GFW Inc. website.
Last year, Corinna Ladd and Marty Pastura were selected from a field of about 20 nominees to win the awards. Wendy Moyle and John Dortch were the inaugural Champions of Change Award winners in 2019.
“Great mentors bring out the best in us,” said Meghan Short, program coordinator at GFW Inc. “In many ways, they are the ones who fuel our rise as a community. It’s only fitting that we celebrate their efforts and their impact.”
