FORT WAYNE, Ind. – After years of planning, construction is set to officially begin on a 17-acre development near Dupont Road. Blue Flame Hospitality will break ground on a dual-brand hotel, as well as a retail center, continuing the company’s investment in the thriving Dupont area. The groundbreaking ceremony is slated for Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m., at 10650 Diebold Road.
The $35-million project includes a 172-room hotel that utilizes two different brands; some rooms will take on a Hilton Garden Inn concept, while others will have the look and feel of a Home2 Suites by Hilton. Once completed, the hotel will employ about 100 people.
“We are thrilled to welcome even more visitors to the Fort Wayne area,” said Jason Patel, president and CEO of Blue Flame Hospitality. “Our family has built, owned, and operated multiple hotels here over the past 30 years. This is our largest project to date, and we can’t wait to get started.”
The project, dubbed the “Parkside” development, is located on the east side of Diebold Road, just north of Dupont Road. The hotel will join two other Dupont-area hotels managed by Blue Flame Hospitality.
The groundbreaking ceremony, scheduled for Dec. 4 at 4 p.m., is open to the public and will be followed by a reception featuring refreshments and cocktails.
