Ben Burkle

Economic Development Intern

Ben joined Greater Fort Wayne Inc. in 2024 as the Economic Development Intern, bringing his passion for local government and community development to the team. A lifelong Fort Wayne resident, Ben is a double major in Political Science and History with a minor in Business at Purdue University Fort Wayne. Additionally, Ben is pursuing certificates in Civic Education, and Public Advocacy/International Studies at PFW.

His interest in Fort Wayne’s growth was sparked in high school when he first learned about Greater Fort Wayne Inc.’s vision for the city. Now, he’s thrilled to contribute to the projects that shape his hometown’s future. Ben’s enthusiasm for the region is evident in his commitment to supporting initiatives that benefit the community, including attending ribbon cuttings and groundbreaking ceremonies that celebrate local progress.

Outside of work, Ben is a dedicated traveler with a goal of visiting all 50 states—16 down and counting! He’s also a theme park enthusiast, a Colts fan, and an avid collector of vinyl records, CDs, and tapes. When he’s not on the go, he enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and cooking up something new.
